More Smiles Wisconsin (Madison Dental Initiative)
Madison Dental Initiative was started by the Salvation Army in 2009 to further help families in need. MDI relies on donations and volunteers to function. Those who give their time find joy in helping treat a homeless child’s tooth infection or a homeless veteran’s advanced periodontal disease.
Madison Family Dental has been honored to help MDI provide patient care by volunteering on a monthly basis. Dr. Lindsey Heim, Dr. Lori Veerman, and dental assistants Valerie and Rita have all spent time working with homeless patients at the clinic and plan to continue doing so in the future. In 2017, Dr. Lori Veerman started serving on the Board of Directors for Madison Dental Initiative.
Madison Family Dental has been honored to contribute to More Smiles Wisconsin to help them provide patient care by volunteering on a monthly basis. Dr. Lori Veerman, who serves on the board, and Dr. Lindsey Heim have spent time working at the clinic with homeless patients.
Yearly, Madison Family Dental hosts a Touched Twice United Clinic, providing services to hundreds of patients at our clinic on a Saturday morning.
