How To Remove Tartar Build-Up at Home

How To Remove Tartar Build-Up at HomeYellow teeth or brown teeth that are caused by tartar buildup can lead to inflammation and discomfort. Luckily enough, there are a few home remedies that can help you get rid of tartar buildup. It is important to note that these remedies use natural ingredients easily found at home and are easy to do.

Baking soda

Although baking soda has a characteristically unpleasant taste, it is still a great way to remove tartar buildup. This is mainly because of the mild abrasives present in baking soda. To remove tartar using baking soda, start by first mixing a small amount of the baking soda with water to create a mushy paste. With the help of a toothbrush, brush your teeth for at least 10 minutes. Finally, thoroughly rinse your mouth with water.

White Vinegar

White vinegar can also be useful when removing tartar at home. For this method, you will need to mix two tablespoons of white vinegar in a glass of warm water and then gargle. This will help to remove tartar buildup between teeth and gums. In addition, because of its acidic nature, it will also help to kill bacteria and prevent infections.

Orange Peels

While this method may seem unusual, orange peels are great for containing tartar build-up. The vitamin C found in orange peels is quite helpful when dealing with tartar. If you decide to use this method, you can either take the peels and rub it along your teeth and gums. Alternatively, you can also create a mushy paste by mashing it up and mixing it with water and then rubbing the paste onto the teeth with a toothbrush.

Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera contains antioxidants and antibacterial properties that are effective when dealing with tartar. You will need to make a paste by mixing a teaspoon of aloe Vera, 4 teaspoons of glycerin, lemon, 4 tablespoons of baking soda, and water. Once you have made the paste, brush this paste on your teeth daily until the tartar disappears. Even though these home remedies may be effective, the best ways or methods to prevent tartar buildup is to brush your teeth twice a day and floss daily.
