Dr. Alanna WirtzDr. Alanna Wirtz is one of three partners and seven general dentists at Madison Family Dental Associates, working out of our Madison office. Prior to dental school, Dr. Wirtz practiced pediatric physical therapy for five years. Working at the UW Hospital, Dr. Wirtz realized her passion for healthcare. She discovered that dentistry offered the close patient care and work-life balance she desired. Dr. Wirtz graduated from Marquette School of Dentistry in 2005, and immediately knew she wanted to be in a group practice setting in Madison, Wisconsin. She sought out the ability to continue learning and growing from experienced dentists, and found that environment at Madison Family Dental Associates. Dr. Wirtz is most fulfilled when a patient is able to come in with a problem and be fully treated that day. The reward of seeing her patients leave with a new, confident smile fuels her passion as a dentist. She continually seeks to build trust with her patients and feels honored to provide their dental care. Dr. Wirtz's favorite procedure is placing front crowns, as the patient can pick out the shape and color of their desired smile and she can make their vision come to life! More recently, Dr. Wirtz is expanding her orthodontic work, which provides another alternative to creating aesthetically pleasing dentition. She thrives on achieving the ‘dream smile’ for her patients. Outside of work, Dr. Wirtz is a mom of four, three girls and one boy, which keeps her very busy! As her two eldest enter their teenage years, she acknowledges that each stage of adolescence provides new adventures, rewards, and stresses. Dr. Wirtz enjoys staying active through running, and most recently, on her new Peleton! Associations:
